C. Joe Northup, M.D., F.A.C.S. — Medical Director
Dr. Northup is the medical director and principal bariatric surgeon for Mercy Healthy Weight Solutions. Dr. Northup completed his surgical training at the Medical College of Ohio and went on to complete an advanced laparoscopic and bariatric fellowship at the University of Virginia.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Northup was invited to join the faculty of the University of Virginia (UVA) Department of Surgery. He was appointed as Medical Director of the bariatric surgery program there, and developed the Bariatric Center of Excellence for UVA.
In December of 2007, he joined Mercy Health Partners. He has since worked to develop Mercy Healthy Weight Solutions, one of the Cincinnati area's most complete weight loss programs. As an experienced bariatric surgeon, Dr. Joe Northup is dedicated to helping each patient find the weight loss solution that is right for them.
Dr. Northup is a member of the American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (ASMBS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and is a BLIS-certified surgeon . He serves on national committees for the ASMBS and SAGES. Having personally performed more than 700 bariatric surgery procedures, Dr. Northup has extensive experience treating patients who suffer from excess weight.
Anne Erisman, MPAS, PA-C
Anne Erisman is a physician assistant and the program coordinator for Mercy Healthy Weight Solutions. She received her PA training at Kettering College of Medical Arts in Dayton. She completed her master’s degree at The University of Nebraska. She has worked in bariatrics over the past seven years. She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (ASMBS). Her favorite part of working in bariatrics is being a part of helping people become healthier and happier.
Heidi Keppler, RD, LD - Dietitian
Heidi Keppler received her bachelor degree in psychology from Indiana University and finished her Dietetic certification from the University of Cincinnati. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. She has more than 15 years of experience in clinical, community and government settings. She has worked with diabetes and weight management for the past 8 1/2 years.
Christina M. Ohlinger MS, RD, LD - Dietitian
Christina Ohlinger has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ohio Dominican University. She completed her Dietetics course work at the University of Cincinnati in 2006 and completed her dietetic internship at the Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. Christina also holds a Master of Science degree in Exercise and Health Studies from Miami University. She believes that all people deserve to have science based, actionable information about how good nutrition and physical activity affect health. This is why she became a dietitian after a 20 year business career that involved working with the public.
Amber Sea, O.B.S.T. — Patient Coordinator
Amber has been in healthcare in one form or another for the past fifteen years, twelve of which were spent in the labor and delivery department at Mercy Hospital Fairfield. She began working at Mercy Healthy Weight Solutions in 2008. Her favorite part of being part of the staff at Mercy Healthy Weight Solutions is getting to know the patients and seeing their transformation. She is passionate about her role and making a difference in the lives of those around her. Her claim to fame came in 2008 when she won "The Biggest Loser" Million-Pound Match Up online, a challenge from the popular TV show for Americans to lose one million pounds during the course of the show “The Biggest Loser: Couples.”
Tyna Miller — Insurance Coordinator
Tyna has over eighteen years of experience in healthcare and has spent over five years with Mercy Health Partners. Tyna can be seen at many of our community events and appearances and enjoys getting to know each patient as an individual while helping them navigate the insurance world. Her favorite part of working at our Fairfield practice serving all of Cincinnati is seeing patients' physical and emotional transformation after undergoing a weight loss program with our bariatric surgeon.
Shelly Keyer - Registrar
Shelly has worked in healthcare for over ten years. She is the friendly face you will meet as she greets you with a smile in the front lobby of our office. Her favorite part of working at Mercy Healthy Weight Solutions is seeing patients become more and more confident and happy throughout the weight loss process!
