Our insurance and financial policies are designed to make obtaining effective weight loss care as convenient as possible for our patients. We will work hard to help you understand all of the costs involved in your care. We will also work with you to determine coverage from your insurance provider. If you opt to pay for gastric bypass or other services at our Fairfield, Ohio bariatric surgery center serving Greater Cincinnati, we will help you explore weight loss surgery financing. Please note that there is now a $200.00 program fee for all new medical weight loss patients and surgical patients transferring from another practice into our program with existing gastric bands or bypass procedures.

Cash Pay Patients

Joe Northup, M.D. is a BLIS -certified surgeon. Only surgeons who meet selective BLIS requirements can offer their cash-pay patients with complication protection. BLIS helps surgeons protect patients in two ways:

• BLISCare pays medical providers for the patient's complication related care authorized by their BLIS surgeon.
• BLIS only approves the highest quality bariatric surgeons

Ultimately, the most important decision patients make regarding surgery is who they trust to perform it. BLIS has performed extensive research and examined the outcomes of many bariatric surgeons nationwide. Only those with a high rate of successful outcomes and low complication rates (compared to national expected bariatric outcomes) are eligible to join BLIS. The organization continually evaluates each surgeon’s outcomes against the BLIS proprietary outcomes dataset in order to ensure a high degree of quality.

Insurance Information

Mercy Healthy Weight Solutions accepts a wide variety of insurance plans. Many insurance companies cover bariatric surgery and medical weight loss. Program Fees

The Program fee for medically-supervised weight loss patients is $200. This is an out-of-pocket fee and is not covered by commercial insurance. The fee is due in full following your initial private consultation with our Medical Director. Our program consists of six monthly visits with our Medical Director and dietitian. Our Financial Policies

For your convenience, our office accepts all major insurance. In addition, co-pays, program fees and other out of pocket costs can be paid by credit card or check. Some patients visiting our practice in Fairfield, Ohio, just outside of Cincinnati, plan to self-pay for gastric bypass surgery or other procedures. With weight loss surgery financing options available, we are able to help these patients more easily obtain important care. Of course, we also help patients understand the full cost of LAP-BAND® System surgery, or other procedures, at our Cincinnati area practice prior to applying for financing.
